Winter is here...

Well here we are, not quite November yet and there is snow on the ground and it is -8 C (about 16 F). We went to the park yesterday and are enjoying sleeping in. Ice is starting to form in the lake...

We had a nice weekend off. There was still a bit of snow in the ground and zeke went crazy rolling in it and eating it! The lake looked fogged in and pretty neat on Saturday. Apparently Zeke thinks after a bath he is allowed on the couch...and he would be wrong!

Northern Lights!!

So last night from our balcony you could see the Northern Lights! It was SO spectacular how they danced around! Forgive the poor photography, it was the best we could do from the balcony, in the cold, without digging out the tripod!

Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend

We got sunday and Monday off for the holiday, so we headed about 4.5 hours south to Richdale for Erik to goose and duck hunt with family and friends. Here are a few photos from the hunting lodge and our walk by the lake when we got home today.

Bye Bye Whitefish

We had a great visit in whitefish and now unfortunately all good things come to an end. We are headed back to Cold Lake to get back to the daily grind...
